Huge news -  Earlier this year Jay Vee Ranch placed one of their finest athletes in training for Competitive Trail with Cathy Kolesar of Coutts, AB.  Being only five years old and only being started in March, we fully expected that it would take some time for "Harley" to hit his stride.  Well we were wrong and Cathy hit the ground running.  In May at Blackfalds she rode Intermediate for 25 miles and received a first place ribbon with a perfect score.  In July she rode two open competitions at 50 miles, one at Okotoks and one in K-Country.  Okotoks saw a 2nd place ribbon and a reserve overall with K-Country being a 1st place ribbon and again reserve overall.  The Summer Games at Millarville saw the Silver Medal in the heavy weight division and the Waldron Ranch ride had the "fearsome-twosome" in 1st place with a grand championship.   Well this is no small achievement for the little brown horse and our friend from Coutts.  Cathy is now in first place in the province with rides at Sundre and Writing-on-Stone yet to go.  Check out the TRAC site at "trailriding.ab.ca." for regular updates.
